When making bookings, the logged-in individual has access to both their own personal address book and the global address list for the account.
Addresses can be created in:
| • | An account-specific address book. |
These global addresses are created and managed by the admin group that accesses the selected account. Administrators are strongly recommended to add at least one address to each booking account.
Bookers who have access to the account can use all its associated addresses, regardless if addresses were added by different admin groups. If administrators do not validate addresses at the time of creation, users will be prompted to do so when submitting a booking.
| • | A personal address book. |
Every individual can set up their own list of useful addresses through the My Profile > Address Book menu.
When the logged-in user views the Address Book from the My Profile menu, the display consists of personal entries that were set up by the user and global addresses that were associated with the selected account by the account's administrators.
The system supports UK addresses which comprise:
| o | postcode |
| o | building name or number |
| o | street |
| o | town |
Bulk upload and .CSV files
CSV file uploads offer a fast and straightforward way of adding, amending and removing multiple addresses to/from the system.
Administrators are strongly recommended to manually add at least one address to each booking account. This provides a "template" for the downloadable .CSV file and can be readily edited and extended by individuals (through the My Profile, Address Book screens).
The upload process does not currently include address validation. This step needs to be performed manually for each individual address. If it is not done by the administrator, users will be prompted to do so when submitting a booking that uses non-validated addresses.
Why validate addresses?
|
Validating an address allows us to confirm the booking and map the address to GPS co-ordinates for our couriers. Entries in your Address Books only have to be validated once. Occasionally, the system may not be able to validate an address; contact your service centre for assistance. |
