Amending administrators/users

SameDay Courier online users can be created individually or in bulk.

Once an individual is assigned to a group, the group determines the individual's role and permissions. So administrators are a special type of user who have admin privileges because they are assigned to an admin group.

Individuals who have a SameDay ID but who are not in a group (or have been removed from a group) are available for assignment to any user/admin group.

Before you start

1.To amend an administrator or user, you must have administrator privileges for the admin or user group to which the individual(s) are assigned.
2.You can only amend or delete an administrator or user that was created by yourself or another administrator in your admin group.

Actions

1.Select as appropriate: ADMIN > Log In Management > View / Amend Administrator

OR

ADMIN > Log In Management > View / Amend User.

2.Click Search

OR

Type the full name into any of the search filter fields and then click Search

OR

If you only type part of the name/number into a field, use the asterisk wildcard.

Search Results item

Description

Group Name

Indicates the group to which the administrator / user belongs.

A blank field indicates that the individual is not assigned to any group.

First Name

Administrator's / user's first name.

Last Name

Administrator's / user's last name.

Email Address

Administrator's / user's email address. This must be a valid address.

Enabled / Blocked

A toggle switch - click to swap the state of the administrator / user:

Enabled: administrator / user can log into the system as normal; access to screens is determined by their admin / user group.

Blocked: administrator / user cannot log in; access to the system is barred.

View

Displays the administrator's / user's details as read-only values.

Amend

Displays the administrator's / user's details, and permits you to amend them provided the administrator / user is not blocked and you have the right permissions.

Go to step 3.

Delete

Removes the administrator / user from the system.

If the individual has bookings which have not been completed, the individual cannot be deleted.

The user cannot be restored.

 

The following steps assume that you have clicked Amend for an administrator or user record.

3.To update the administrator / user details using a .CSV file that you have already prepared, click Upload User List, find the .CSV file and click Open.

OR

Go to User Group Name or Admin Group Name dropdown list:

a)If the individual does not currently belong to an admin/user group, you can assign this individual to a group as required.
b)If you need to move administrators or users from one group to another, you must first remove the individual from the current group and then assign the individual to it  (if you have permissions for the new group).
4.Amend the user information fields as required.
5.When you have completed amending the data, click one of the following:

Save (save and stay on the same page) / Save & Close (save and leave the page) / Close (cancel the changes).

Administrators and users whose details have been changed receive an automated Profile Change notification by email.
