Searching and using wildcards |
When you search the SameDay online booking system your group/account settings determine the results that you can View, Amend and/or Delete.
The SameDay online booking system is case-sensitive. |
---|
You can usually run a Search in any of the following ways:
1. | You can leave all the fields blank and just click Search. |
The system displays all the records to which you have access - this may take a few minutes.
2. | You can type just the initial letter(s)/number(s) into the relevant field(s) and click Search. |
3. | You can type any part of the name/number into the field(s), including the * asterisk wildcard (see below) as appropriate, and then click Search. |
4. | If you know it, you can type the exact name/number into any field(s) and click Search. |
What is the asterisk wildcard?
When you want to search for a name/number, you can type part of it into any filter field(s) and use an * (asterisk wildcard) to substitute for zero or one or more than one characters (including space).
For example, if searching for Fidelity Insurance:
• | F* returns all records that begin with F including Fidelity Insurance. |
• | Fid* returns all records that begin with Fid including Fidelity Insurance. |
• | Insurance* returns all records that begin with Insurance. The system would NOT return Fidelity Insurance. |
• | *Insurance returns all records that end with Insurance including Fidelity Insurance. |
• | *Insurance* returns all records that include the word Insurance, including Fidelity Insurance. |
