Administrators' overview > Validating addresses Validating addresses |
Addresses in bookings have to be validated or the booking cannot be confirmed. Validating an address allows us to map it to GPS coordinates which we pass to our couriers.
Before you start
| 1. | This procedure is for administrators who want to manually validate the global address lists. The alternative is to leave address validation to the bookers, as and when each address is used for a booking. |
| 2. | You must have administrator privileges for the consol codes/accounts which are associated with the non-validated addresses. |
| 3. | If you uploaded a .CSV file of addresses, make a note of the consol code and account(s) that are associated with the new and updated addresses. |
| 4. | Addresses that are uploaded to the system using a .CSV file are not validated on upload. |
Actions
| 1. | Select ADMIN > Address Book Management > View/Amend Address. |
| 2. | Select the consol code to which you uploaded the addresses. |
| 3. | Click Search. |
As the search returns a list of all the addresses in the client, you can if you wish, narrow down the results of the search: type the initial characters into any of the fields.
| 4. | Identify a non-validated address in the table of results, and click Amend. |
| 5. | In the Address Details panel, click Validate. |
|
Validating an address allows us to confirm the booking and map the address to GPS co-ordinates for our couriers. Entries in your Address Books only have to be validated once. Occasionally, the system may not be able to validate an address; contact your service centre for assistance. |
|---|
| 6. | Select the matching entry from the Address List popup and click Select. |
If no results are found, fill in all the fields with as much detail as you can and repeat the search.
In the event that the system cannot find an address, contact your service centre for assistance.
| 7. | Highlight the matching entry from the results returned by the system and click Select. |
| 8. | Click Save for each validated address. |
